MLAs Withdraw Support from Haryana BJP Government
The announcement was made at a press conference in Rohtak by the three Independent Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Sombir Sangwan, Randhir Gollen, and Dharampal Gonder. State Congress chief Udai Bhan and former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda were also present.
Impact on BJP’s Ruling Administration
During the Lok Sabha elections, three Independent MLAs in Haryana have declared their withdrawal of support for the administration led by Nayab Singh Saini, a blow to the ruling BJP. The three MLAs, Randhir Gollen, Dharampal Gonder, and Sombir Sangwan, added that they have made the decision to back the Congress in the upcoming elections.
They announced this at a news conference in Rohtak, where state Congress chief Udai Bhan and former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda were present.
Reasons for the Withdrawal
“We are cutting off our support for the administration,” Mr. Gonder stated. “We are offering the Congress our support.”
“We have taken this decision on various issues including those related to farmers,” he stated. During the news conference, Udai Bhan stated, “The three Independent MLAs – Sombir Sangwan, Randhir Singh Gollen, and Dharampal Gonder – have withdrawn their support to the BJP government and extended their support to the Congress.”
BJP’s Current Position in Haryana Assembly
“In addition, I would like to mention that the BJP currently has 40 members in the 90-member Haryana Assembly, making up 88 members total. JJP MLAs and Independents had previously supported the BJP government, but JJP withdrew its support and Independents are now also departing.
“The government of Nayab Singh Saini is now a minority government. Mr. Bhan stated, “He has no right to remain even for a minute, thus he should submit his resignation.”
