Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion review is not intended for anyone in particular or for people who are merely looking for a powerful battery. The phone seeks to provide a wide range of well-rounded features that may appeal to people of various stripes. It is able to provide a neat and organized user interface, a lightweight design, and respectable charging times. That being said, in terms of performance and camera, it falls short of expectations.

Design and Display of Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

Many design components of the Edge 50 series phones are similar in terms of looks. This indicates that the Edge 50 Fusion has a premium appearance and feel thanks to its textured vegan leather back. Since it gives phones a smooth feel to the touch and makes sure they don’t feel slippery in the hand, I’ve always been a huge fan of the vegan leather treatment on phone back panels. With a nearly flush design, the Edge 50 Fusion has an attractive appearance, in contrast to several other mid-range phones that now have the camera sensor rings sticking out considerably outside the phone’s body.

With a thickness of only 7.8 mm and a weight of 175 grams, this phone is among the lightest and slimmest in this price range. It is therefore comfortable to use the Edge 50 Fusion with just one hand and to carry it about in a pocket. The phone’s right spine houses the power button and volume controls. The keys felt haptic and were easy to get to.

At the bottom of the device are the speaker grille, SIM card slot, and USB Type-C charging port. A 6.7-inch FHD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixel) Endless Edge 10-bit P-OLED curved display with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz is included with the Edge 50 Fusion. To be honest, I’ve moved in my preference between displays with fully flat panels and those with curved sides. On the one hand, the content that flows through the sides of the curved displays gives you an immersive experience. However, the flat panels guarantee that you will have a more constant viewing experience and won’t have to struggle with annoying reflections.

The multimedia consumption experience on this panel was excellent, even if I would have liked a flat display panel on this phone. Watching a lot of TV episodes on this phone was enjoyable because of the P-OLED panel’s great contrast ratio. The panel’s striking colors and deep dark tones really shined. Even in bright sunlight, I had no trouble viewing the material on the phone’s display thanks to its maximum display brightness of 1600 nits.

Playing Alto’s Adventure on this phone was a breeze thanks to its 144Hz refresh rate, and it was able to maintain an even frame rate. The phone can be set to Ultra HDR and Ultra frame rate in BGMI, and I didn’t see any freezing or even frame dips. It’s reasonable to suggest that, especially with Game Hub, this is one of the better gaming smartphones available in this price range. You may record game clips and take screenshots using Game Hub in addition to using its features to improve your gaming experience (stop calls and notifications, turn off adaptive brightness, adjust refresh rate, etc.).

Cameras Quality of Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

A 50MP Sony Lytia 700C primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and 1.0µm pixel size is included with the Edge 50 Fusion. According to the brand, this pixel size can reach 2.0µm with the Ultra Pixel Technology. Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) helps the primary camera sensor to produce blur-free images and movies. A secondary 13MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture is also attached. The 32MP selfie camera has 0.7µm pixels and an f/2.4 aperture. This size increases to 1.4µm using Quad Pixel Technology. To improve focus speed and accuracy, the phone incorporates a dual-pixel Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) sensor.

Software as Well and Performance of Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

The Edge 50 Fusion is equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, which is a respectable option that enables seamless app operation. It’s important to note, though, that there are currently phones in this price bracket with better processors. The phone received a respectable score of 620648 in the AnTuTu benchmark.

The Edge 50 Fusion scored 1020 in the single-core test and 2945 in the multi-core test on Geekbench. These are excellent results, indicating that the phone can manage demanding apps and multitasking easily.

Motorola Edge 50 Fusion Battery and Frequency of Charging

With a 5,000mAh battery that supports TurboPower 68W fast charging, the Edge 50 Fusion is a powerhouse. During our charging test, the phone took 54 minutes to charge from 20% to 100%. Still, the story doesn’t finish there. The phone was able to charge from 20 percent to 100 percent in just 36 minutes by using the Charge Boost feature, which is available in the settings menu but needs to be manually enabled. This feature might save your life if you’re in a rush.

My Opinion for Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

If you’re looking for a phone with a strong primary camera setup, an interesting display, decent performance, and a fashionable and lightweight design, you should give the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion some thought. The phone checks a lot of the correct boxes; however, it is hard to classify it in any one category because the OnePlus Nord CE4, Nothing Phone (2), and Infinix GT 20 Pro perform better in each category than the phone does in this price range. The GT 20 Pro is a decent option if gaming is your thing, but the Nord CE4 is a good option if you’re looking for a phone with superior battery life.

With the recent release of the Edge 50 Pro (review), Motorola garnered high marks for the smartphone’s design, display, and photography capabilities from both users and critics. As per our evaluation, the phone boasts a striking appearance, a smooth display, a powerful camera configuration, and high-end features like lightning-fast wired charging, support for wireless charging, and sturdy construction. The Edge 50 Pro is a good phone; however, right now it costs little more than Rs 30,000 in India. Now that Motorola has released the Edge 50 Fusion, consumers may get a comparable experience at a lower cost. This new model, which starts at Rs 22,999, claims to provide exceptional value for money in addition to a few characteristics that rank highest in the segment.

Does Motorola succeed in keeping its word? Does the Edge 50 Fusion carry over the Edge 50 Pro’s magic? To find out your response, read my in-depth analysis below.
